Razan Abu Eseifan Never Alone 01
2021, Inkjet print, 8″x10″
Never Alone is a series of images exploring the ever-growing ways of surveillance. The images are taken using an iPhone, something that everyone has, and follow a single subject to emphasize the excess surveillance we encounter on a daily basis. The images are from the angle of stationary security cameras as well as from the perspective of following someone on foot. This is meant to comment on the fact that even without security cameras we can easily be watched and surveilled by anyone at any time. Although this work follows a specific subject doing mundane tasks the narrative is that this can be anyone in today’s world. Even when you are not in a public space with security cameras, you can be just as easily watched, photographed and tracked in your private space.
